Kazakhstan and Bulgaria confirm high level of political dialogue
In order to discuss current issues of bilateral cooperation, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Bulgaria Viktor Temirbayev held a meeting with the Foreign Policy and Economic Affairs Secretaries of the President of Bulgaria Roussi Ivanov and Hristo Alexiev, El.kz cites MFA.
The interlocutors summed up the fruitful cooperation between Astana and Sofia last year and outlined promising tasks for the coming period, as well as exchanged views on issues of intensifying political dialogue and further strengthening trade-economic and investment ties.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the upcoming Astana International Forum (AIF 2025) and the global information campaign “Kazakhstan. BornBold”. At the same time, the Kazakh diplomat informed in detail about the large-scale reforms and initiatives of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on issues of domestic and foreign policy, socio-economic development and democratic transformation of our country.
In general, the parties expressed mutual satisfaction with the current state of Kazakh-Bulgarian relations, and also noted a fivefold increase in trade turnover last year (336.7 million US dollars over 10 months in 2024), as a result of which our country entered the top 6 importing countries of Bulgaria outside the European Union.
In conclusion, the interlocutors agreed on the importance of maintaining working contacts on all issues identified during the meeting and confirmed their readiness to further deepen practical cooperation.
