Kazakh schoolchildren compete at robotics championship in US

Seven school teams from Kazakhstan will participate at FIRST Robotics Championship in US, El.kz reports citing Enlightenment Ministry.
A large-scale engineering competition is held in Houston (Texas) and gathers 50 thousand participants from 110 countries of the world. The main task of the teams is to develop and present engineering solutions aimed at preserving the resources of the world's oceans.
This year, Kazakhstan is represented by a record number of teams - seven, which became possible due to the expansion of the international quota.
The ministry emphasizes that this reflects the growing authority of Kazakhstan's school engineering at the world level.
The national team of the country was formed based on the results of the Central Asian Championship Almaty Tech Cup.
According to Asylbek Murzakhmetov, the head of the USTEM Foundation, Kazakh teams are among the favorites of the season.
Kazakhstan has already established itself as a global leader in school robotics, winning FIRST GLOBAL three years in a row: in Geneva (2022), Singapore (2023) and Athens (2024) among more than 190 countries.
