The Head of Sstate held talks with the President of Russia in an expanded format, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.      

As the Head of our State noted, the current visit of the President of Russia to Kazakhstan is of particular importance in terms of further determining the prospects for the development of interstate relations.

According to him, today bilateral cooperation is successfully developing in all areas in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance.

"Kazakhstan and Russia are equally well aware that an independent and sovereign choice of development paths multiplies the return on equal and mutually beneficial partnership," the leader of Kazakhstan said.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that thanks to joint efforts, the border between Kazakhstan and Russia is actively working for the benefit of the economies of both countries, and about 25 million people living in the border regions feel the concrete benefits.

"The values of friendship, trust and good neighborliness are the heritage of our ancestors, who have lived on both sides of the border for centuries. We must preserve these values and pass them on to the next generations," he stressed.

During the talks, the parties discussed in detail the key aspects of the bilateral economic agenda, identified the main areas of cooperation for the future and reached a number of agreements aimed at deepening cooperation in a wide range of areas, including healthcare, energy, transport, agriculture, sports, etc.

Vladimir Putin thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the traditionally warm welcome and noted the productivity of the talks in a narrow format

«Russia and Kazakhstan are not just allies, but the closest allies. Such relations have developed over the past many years, and I would like to thank Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich for preserving this tradition of strengthening our relations, which, of course, benefit our peoples," the President of Russia said.

In addition, Vladimir Putin believes that along with agriculture, such areas as education and science, high technology, mechanical engineering, the chemical industry, and industrial production should also become priority areas of cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the leaders reaffirmed their mutual commitment to deepening multifaceted Kazakh-Russian relations and promoting integration processes in the Eurasian space.
