Kazakh President attends City of Working Professions festival

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attended City of Working Professions festival held at the EXPO, El.kz reports citing the press service of Akorda.

This is the first large-scale event as part of The Year of Vocational Professions initiated by the Head of State.

The festival is held with the support of the Ministry of Education and other relevant departments, national companies and large enterprises.

There are 40 interactive exhibition areas where you can get acquainted with more than 200 specialties and learn about the features of various sectors of the economy. Within the framework of the festival, seminars, master classes, innovation sessions and job fairs will be organized for several days. In the first two days, the event was attended by more than 15 thousand people.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev got acquainted with the training of specialists for the energy, mining, metallurgical, oil and gas, construction, agricultural and other industries.

The President was informed about the transformations in vocational education organizations, the activities of which are focused on the demands of the labor market, taking into account the specifics of the regions.

According to the Head of State, qualified specialists will be in great demand for the implementation of such major projects as the construction of a nuclear power plant.
