Kazakh PM instructs to create single digital ecosystem of tourism with master plans integration of resort zones and natural parks

At the Government session chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov paid attention to the digitalisation of the tourism industry, El.kz cites primeminister.kz.

The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of creating a unified digital ecosystem of tourism.

"An important aspect of the successful development of the industry is digitalisation. The issue of creating a unified digital ecosystem of tourism is urgent. Therefore, the creation of TravelStan application is very relevant. The service will unite all market players and guarantee tourists access to quality and reliable services. Last year the project ‘Your tourist pass’ was launched. This tool through scanning a QR code allows providing unified access to the national tourist portal, eQonaq migration service, taxi services and other useful resources. We also see good results of pilot operation of the tool Tax Free, which is widely used in many countries of the world," Olzhas Bektenov noted.

Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Tourism and Sports together with the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry to approve a detailed action plan for the creation of a unified digital ecosystem of tourism within three months. Special attention should be paid to the digitisation of master plans of resort areas and natural parks. At the same time the necessity to place QR codes of access to the national tourist portal at airports, railway stations and border crossings, places where tourists congregate has been noted.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports together with the Ministry of Finance has also set a task to work out an algorithm of introduction of the Tax Free mechanism. This tool should be digitised and automated for the convenience of tourists, especially the refund mechanism at airports.

Special attention is paid to the visa issue. It is instructed to promote Neo Nomad Visa by fully digitising the application procedures. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports together with the Ministries of Culture, Foreign Affairs to ensure an active information campaign in the country and abroad about the tourism potential of Kazakhstan.
