Kazakh national cycling team prepares for upcoming Olympics in Paris
Minister of Tourism and Sports Yermek Marzhikpayev heard the report of the Cycling Federation’ representatives on the latest results of athletes and shared plans for preparing for the main start of the four-year period, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the 2023 Asian Games, the Kazakhstan road cycling team showed good results, winning 2 gold and 1 silver medals. In the women's road cycling discipline – one bronze medal. In the cycling track and mountain bike, athletes from Kazakhstan did not have prizes.
- Our country has good traditions and history in cycling. The current national team deserves special attention. Successful performances of Alexey Lutsenko and Evgeniy Fedorov during the whole season brought our country 3 Olympic licenses.
The gold medals in Hangzhou prove good prospects at the Olympic Games. We must not forget that this is a medal-intensive sport. For other disciplines, such as track cycling and mountain biking, you need to reconsider the training plan. The leaders of the national team must follow individual training plans," said Yermek Marzhikpayev.
The Olympic qualification period for cyclists is over. The national team of Kazakhstan has begun its preparatory process for Paris.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports will create all the necessary conditions for specialists, pharmacological and restorative agents for the members of the national team during the training process.
At the end of the meeting, the Minister instructed to conduct analysis of the results of past competitions, in particular in track cycling and mountain biking, as well as to take measures to maintain a positive moral and psychological atmosphere within the team for the upcoming Olympics in Paris.
