Kazakh Ministry of National Economy and EBRD sign cooperation agreement to support SMEs

Vice Minister of National Economy Bauyrzhan Kudaibergenov and Managing Director, SME Finance and Development at the EBRD Zsuzsanna Hargitai signed an interdepartmental cooperation agreement on the implementation of the Program of Business Advisory Services for SMEs, El.kz reports citing the Ministry of National Economy.

In Kazakhstan, a number of successful projects have been implemented with the participation of the EBRD, which have contributed to the development of sustainable and inclusive model of growth for the country's economy.

The document covers the issues of further development of entrepreneurship in the country, including through a number of measures and support tools that have shown their effectiveness. One of the main objectives of the EBRD's programmes is to create a competitive, diversified and inclusive private sector, as well as to create jobs and added value.

Bauyrzhan Kudaibergenov stressed that within the framework of the agreement, the main emphasis is placed on competitive medium-sized enterprises, in order to bring them to a qualitatively higher level and increase efficiency, effectiveness and competitiveness.
