Kazakh Ministry of Health and UNICEF strengthen partnership
Kazakhstan intends to increase the volume of purchases of essential medicines and HIV vaccines. It was stated during the 74th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe, El.kz reports.
At a meeting with UNICEF representatives, the Kazakh delegation discussed the possibility of expanding the list of purchased medicines, which will reduce delivery times and budget costs. The program of cooperation with UNICEF has shown its effectiveness: last year, it was possible to save about 1.67 billion tenge. A similar result is expected for 2025.
The Ministry of Health also plans to update the memorandum with UNICEF, paying attention to improving the processes of planning, delivery and distribution of medicines. The UNICEF program ensures that the purchased drugs meet international quality and safety standards, which is especially important for ensuring the health of Kazakhstanis.
