Kazakh Minister Aida Balayeva calls to strengthen control over illegal content on Internet
Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aida Balayeva appealed to the administrators of network resource to carefully monitor their news and delete illegal content, El.kz reports.
According to her, disseminating information can lead to blocking of the source of information and users should remember to be responsible for their publications and comments.
The ministry rarely resorts to prohibitive measures, given that millions of citizens get news from online resources . However, it is important to understand that disseminating information is a responsibility to society.
Statistics show that from 2023 to 2024, the amount of illegal content on the Kazakhstani Internet almost doubled and reached 116,354 materials.
The most common disorders are promotion of terrorism, religious extremism, online casino and financial pyramids.
Over the past year, 78,539 materials containing prohibited content were identified on the Kazakh Internet, but only 24.3% of them were removed.
"Cohesion and unity are key factors in the stability of any state. We must support the course of the President and comply with the rule of law and order," Aida Balayeva emphasized.
