Kazakh Head of State received Minister of Energy

The Head of State received Minister of Energy Almasadam Satkaliyev, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about the main issues of the development of the energy industry and the indicators of the country's fuel and energy complex for 10 months of 2023, as well as the implementation of major oil and gas and energy projects.

During the meeting, Almasadam Satkaliyev said that during the specified period, oil production in Kazakhstan amounted to 74.8 million tons, production of petroleum products - 11.2 million tons, gas production - 48.7 billion cubic meters, electricity production - 93.5 billion kWh, uranium mining - 15.35 thousand tons.

The President was informed about the measures being implemented to develop the national power grid, a new mechanism for the sale of electricity introduced in June 2023.

The Head of State was also provided with information on the introduction of additional control over the winter heating season. In particular, according to the minister, 5.5 million tons of coal and 100 thousand tons of fuel oil have been prepared to provide energy facilities.

In addition, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about the department's plans for further gasification of the country.

Following the meeting, the President instructed to keep under special control the issues of the heating season and the implementation of projects to modernize the energy infrastructure, as well as to take measures to ensure uninterrupted supplies of fuel and lubricants and liquefied petroleum gas to the domestic market.
