Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu received Ambassador of the European Union to Kazakhstan Aleška Simkić, El.kz cites MFA.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of Kazakh-European cooperation as well as reviewed the schedule of mutual high-level visits and events. An exchange of views took place on key issues of the international and regional agenda.
Minister Nurtleu emphasized Kazakhstan’s determination to further deepening the strategic partnership with the European Union, emphasizing the importance of effectively implementing the agreements reached in such priority areas of cooperation as trade and investment, transport and logistics, critical raw materials, and digitalization.
Special attention was given to the issue of liberalizing the EU visa regime for citizens of Kazakhstan. The parties reaffirmed their strong commitment to continuing preparations for negotiations in this direction.
In turn, Ambassador Simkić welcomed the high dynamics of interaction and expressed her readiness to make every effort to develop bilateral relations.
Concluding the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain contacts on current issues of bilateral cooperation.
