Kazakh chefs present national millet cuisine at festival in India
In India, the SCO Millets Food Festival is being held at the famous The Taj Mahal Palace hotel in Mumbai, El.kz reports.
For nine days, chefs from the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Russia and India - present cereal and organic dishes and treat them to guests of the hotel and festival. Representatives of Kazakhstan - Bolat Daurbekov and Zaure Zhumabekova are chefs of famous hotels in Kazakhstan.
The festival is organized within the framework of India's chairmanship of the SCO in 2023 and the International Year of Millet (IYM 2023).
The idea behind IYM 2023 is to promote and increase millet production that is resilient to contemporary challenges such as climate change.
At the same time, the SCO countries are characterized by diverse cultures and traditions associated with millet, which are perfectly reflected in their cuisine. According to the organizers, it will delight gourmets and visitors to the festival.
