Kazakh archers prepare for World Nomad Games in Astana
The national team of Kazakhstan in traditional archery is actively preparing for the upcoming 5th World Nomad Games, which will be held from 8 to 13 September in Astana. Athletes train on the territory of the capital's Kazanat Hippodrome, where the main competitions will be held, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Association of National Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Archers from Turkey, Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan, Hungary and Russia show high results in training. Head coach of the Kazakhstan national traditional archery team Dias Akhmetov is confident that Kazakh athletes will demonstrate a high level at the upcoming Games.
Members of the national team also shared their impressions of the preparations. "We feel a great responsibility, because the competitions will be held on our land. This is a unique opportunity to train on the site where the World Nomad Games will be held. We are holding our last training camp here to study the climatic conditions, wind direction and visibility of targets," said Bakbergen Salimov, a member of the national team.
Azhar Rakhmetkyzy, a member of the national team, added: "There is very little time left before the start of the 5th World Nomad Games, we have strengthened our preparation. I am sure that we will show a high level in our native land and bring gold for Kazakhstan."
The Association of National Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which includes the Sadaq Aty Republican Federation of Traditional Archery is headed by Islambek Salzhanov. The Association also includes federations for other national sports, including baige, audaryspak, kokpar, zhamby atu and others.
