Kanat Sharlapaev discusses modernization of Kazakhstan's energy and utilities sectors with EBRD
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is ready to support the country's key infrastructure projects.
Kazakh Minister of Industry and Construction Kanat Sharlapaev held a meeting with the Managing Director, Central Asia and Mongolia at EBRD Hüseyin Özhan, El.kz reports.
Issues of implementation of current projects, in particular, the modernization of sewage treatment facilities in Aktobe, Karaganda and Taraz, were discussed. The parties also considered cooperation within the framework of the National Project "Modernization of the Energy and Utilities Sectors," adopted by the Government of Kazakhstan.
Representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development expressed their readiness to continue close cooperation and provide technical support to projects in the field of infrastructure, energy and housing and communal services.
The parties approved key areas of cooperation and clarified financing mechanisms.
