Iran ready to provide Kazakhstan with modern technologies for irrigation of cultivated areas
Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurzhan Nurzhigitov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Kazakhstan Ali Akbar Joukar, El.kz reports.
During the meeting, the exchange of experience and the introduction of advanced technologies to reduce water losses during transportation and irrigation of cultivated areas were discussed.
Iranian companies are ready to provide Kazakhstan with modern irrigation systems that use groundwater, as well as automatic drip irrigation installations that delivers water directly to the roots of plants. These technologies have allowed Iran to significantly reduce the water consumption of rice cultivation while increasing yields.
"As of today, we have begun large-scale work on the construction and reconstruction of reservoirs and other water facilities. Iranian companies have rich experience in this direction and are developing effective technologies. Some of them are already working in Kazakhstan. For example, in the Zhambyl and Turkestan regions, irrigation networks are being reconstructed. Therefore, I want to invite businessmen from Iran to our country to participate in tenders for the construction and repair of water infrastructure," Nurzhan Nurzhigitov summed up.
