Interior Minister reported to Kazakh President on reduction of crime and new security measures
In Kazakhstan, over the past year, the crime rate has significantly decreased, including for especially serious crimes, El.kz reports citing Akorda.
According to Interior Minister, the country’s crime rates decreased by more than 12,700 last year.
The number of murders, robberies and thefts significantly reduced. 1,949 wanted persons were detained.
In the fight against drug trafficking, 64 drug laboratories were eliminated, almost 22 tons of prohibited substances were seized, and 7,500 Internet resources that disseminated prohibited information were identified.
In 2024, it was possible to block 65 million fraudulent calls and prevent the withdrawal of over 2 billion tenge abroad.
The meeting also discussed the issues of protecting the rights of minors, strengthening migration control, improving road safety and the penal system.
President gave a number of instructions to further strengthen law and order and public safety.
