The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), together with the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, signed an agreement on Master Plan for the development of civil aviation in Kazakhstan until 2050, El.kz reports citing the CAC.
The document was concluded within the framework of the ICAO Global Symposium on Global Implementation Support 2025 (GISS-2025), which is taking place from 10 to 12 February 2025 in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
The development of the Master Plan will create a comprehensive strategy for the development of civil aviation in Kazakhstan, including the modernization of airports, air navigation, airlines, as well as improving the level of flight safety and aviation security. In addition, the document will cover the issues of air transport, improving its accessibility and other key areas.
It is noted that ICAO has high expertise in the development of the aviation industry.
Kazakhstan became the first country in Central Asia and the CIS to conclude a strategic agreement with ICAO aimed at sustainable development, modernization and improvement of the efficiency of aviation infrastructure operation. This initiative is in line with Kazakhstan's national goals to strengthen the country's transit and transport potential and make it a key regional aviation hub.
