Head of the State visits enterprise for production of household appliances in Saran

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the Silk Road Electronics enterprise for the production of household appliances and electronics in Saran. It is located on the territory of the Karagandarezinotekhnika (KRT) with a total area of over 61 thousand square meters. The cost of the project is 25 billion tenge, El.kz reports citing  Akorda.

Since January 2024, the plant has been producing household appliances and supplying electronics to retail chains in Kazakhstan. Since the beginning of the year, the company has produced 97 thousand units of equipment. The company plans to reach a production capacity of 1.1 million units of household appliances by 2027 and supply its products to the CIS countries.

Samsung Electronics Central Eurasia Chair Minka Chu announced plans to organize the production of TVs and automatic washing machines under the Samsung brand at this production site.

The President was informed that currently 232 people from Karaganda, Saran, Shakhtinsk and Abay are employed at the plant. With full capacity utilization, it is planned to increase the number of employees to 1200 people.
