Head of State receives Governor of Astana International Financial Centre Renat Bekturov

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the Governor of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC) Renat Bekturov, El.kz reports.

Bekturov informed about the achievements of the center in the first six months of 2024 and plans for the upcoming period.

To date, over $12 bln of investments have been attracted to Kazakhstan through the AIFC, which already exceeds the target set by 2025. For the entire period of the center's activity, AIFC participants transferred 115 bln tenge to the country's budget, of which 29.8 bln tenge was paid for the first half of 2024.

One of the main factors in the growth of tax revenues was the increase in the number of participants and the intensification of their activities. In the first half of 2024, more than 500 companies joined the AIFC, which made it possible to increase the total number of participants to almost 3000 and create more than 7600 jobs.

Bekturov also spoke about measures to support the AIFC business community and noted that the first event within the framework of the AIFC Community initiative took place in June. He informed about the preparations for the annual Astana Finance Days 2024 event, which will be held on September 5-6 this year.

The Head of State outlined a number of tasks for the further development of the AIFC, stressing the need to strengthen the work of all government agencies and financial institutions to attract investment in the economy of Kazakhstan through the active use of the center's infrastructure.
