The Head of State received Defense Minister Ruslan Zhaksylykov, El.kz reports citing Akorda.
Ruslan Zhaksylykov reported on the operational and combat training of army units, the main efforts aimed at training command and control bodies and personnel. During the conversation, the importance of effective interaction of the Armed Forces with central and local authorities in crisis situations, including in the current flood control period, was noted.
The President was also informed about the equipping of the Armed Forces with modern equipment and weapons, the development of territorial defense forces, and the improvement of military infrastructure. Information was announced on the events planned for 2024 within the framework of Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the SCO and the CSTO, as well as on the conduct of large-scale exercises, including at the international level.
In addition, the Head of State was informed about the work of the department on military-patriotic education, spring conscription for military service, measures to improve the social status of servicemen and the prestige of military service.
The President noted the importance of the activities of the Kazakh peacekeeping contingent on the Golan Heights under the auspices of the UN.
At the end of the meeting, the Head of State set a number of tasks for the minister aimed at further increasing the combat potential of the Armed Forces.
