Head of State receives Chairman of Supreme Audit Chamber Alikhan Smailov

Alikhan Smailov at a meeting with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev presented the results of the activities of the Supreme Audit Chamber for the second quarter of this year, El.kz reports.

As a result of the audit of 73 facilities and funds worth over 2.9 trillion tenge, financial violations of more than 39 billion tenge were revealed. The audit was conducted in transport sector, budgets of Abai, Zhetysu, Ulytau and Almaty regions

He also said that in order to eliminate the shortcomings, proposals have been developed for the development of the transport sector, the implementation of budget investment projects and the revision of the mechanism of state support for domestic manufacturers of pharmaceutical products.

In addition, Alikhan Smailov presented a package of proposals for reforming the public audit system;

He also reported on the audit activities to be carried out in the second half of this year. They will affect the activities of Nazarbayev University, KazMunaiGas , the judicial system, as well as certain areas in agriculture, manufacturing and construction.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed to ensure strict control over the use of budget funds and state assets, and also focused on further improving the efficiency of the state audit system as a whole.
