Head of Government instructs to strengthen measures to saturate market with domestic agricultural products

During a working trip to the West Kazakhstan region, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov got acquainted with the ongoing work to ensure food security and listened to a report on the development of the agro-industrial complex in the region, El.kz reports citing the press service of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Head of Government visited the greenhouse complex for the production of vegetable products of World Green Company LLP, where he got acquainted with the technological process and inspected the finished products. All the necessary conditions have been created on the territory of the greenhouse. More than 6 thousand tons of cucumbers and tomatoes are produced here per year.

Following the visit to the greenhouse, the Prime Minister focused on the importance of saturating the domestic market with domestic agricultural products.

The Head of State supports the development of agriculture. This year, as part of measures to support the agro-industrial complex, 430 billion tenge was provided. However, on the instructions of the President, we will double this amount. Therefore, there is a prospect of increasing the volume of agricultural production, now we need to work actively. The necessary assistance from the state will be provided," Olzhas Bektenov said.

Here, the Head of Government was presented with a project for the construction of Kazakhstan's first mining and processing complex for the production of potash fertilizers with a capacity of 6 million tons with the attraction of about $2.4 billion in investments. To date, the average demand for such fertilizers in the Republic of Kazakhstan is 18 thousand tons per year. The launch of the plant will take place in stages until 2035. Within the framework of the project, 4 thousand permanent jobs will be created.
