Gone are the days when a printer was something in the corner used simply to print out tax returns or children's homework, El.kz cites BBC.
On Wednesday, the first ever 3D-printed space rocket is preparing to launch from Cape Canaveral in Florida.
Newsday have been speaking to Leah Crane - a physics and space reporter with the New Scientist magazine. She says "it's the biggest 3D-printed object ever" and "a quick an easy way to make a rocket".
Despite the rocket skipping its final test, Crane thinks "it has a pretty good chance of launching and if it does make it to orbit on the first try, that's a really big deal. It's generally not that easy."
