Eurasia Film Festival to become platform for new trends in cinematography, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev
The grand opening of the XVII Eurasia International Film Festival took place in Almaty. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory letter to the event participants, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"This is a unique project that demonstrates our culture to the whole world. This year, the celebration is dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Kazakh cinematography giant Shaken Aimanov and the 90th anniversary KazakhFilm studio. This has great symbolic significance. Cinematography calls the public to creativity, thereby instilling a high culture in the entire nation. It also strengthens cultural ties among different nations," the message reads.
The Head of State also noted that the country attaches great importance to the support of national cinema.
"A lot of work is being done in Kazakhstan to develop this industry. Our professionals shoot films with deep meaning. Our films participate in prestigious awards around the world. I believe that the Eurasia International Film Festival will open theway for the best projects. I wish you many creations that will make the viewer think about what is important and give spiritual food!" the President said.
In turn, Aida Balayeva noted that the Eurasia Film Festival is a unique forum that has become a cultural brand of Kazakhstan and entire Central Asia.
The Eurasia International Film Festival will be held from November 24 to 30. More than 15 countries will take part at the festival.
The event is organised by the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan and Shaken Aimanov Kazakhfilm Studio.
