Elections to lay new political tradition of responsible presidency: Tokayev

The results of the elections, which will be held on November 20, will lay a new political tradition of a responsible presidency limited to a single seven-year term, Tokayev said at a solemn ceremony in honor of the Republic Day, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the President of Kazakhstan. This tradition will establish a mechanism for a civilized and regular change of supreme power, will put a barrier to attempts to monopolize it," he said.

According to the Head of State, the elections of deputies of the Mazhilis and Maslikhats of all levels scheduled for next year will become an important watershed in the development of Kazakhstan's parliamentarism.

Their results will directly reflect our political modernization, which is aimed at expanding the participation of citizens in the management of the state, ensuring inclusive representation of all social groups.

Thus, we will reboot and strengthen the key institutions of our political system, set a stable vector for long-term state-building," the President said.

He pointed out that "there will be no place for favoritism in the economy of Just Kazakhstan."

"Our economic policy will be aimed at achieving real goals in the name of the long-term interests of the state. Its essence lies not in the pursuit of abstract figures of economic growth, but in the creation of broad opportunities and equal conditions for the self-realization of citizens, a steady increase in the quality of life of all compatriots.

We will continue to reform the courts and law enforcement in order to ensure the rule of law in practice. Law and order will become a basic factor in increasing citizens' confidence in the state. People are our main wealth, the main engine of economic and social progress. Therefore, we will increase strategic investments in human potential, support our youth and socially vulnerable categories of citizens in every possible way.

Ultimately, we must reboot the entire system of values and form a new quality of the nation," the President concluded.
