Economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan is expanding

A business forum of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan started in Astana, which was attended by representatives of state bodies of the two countries, as well as entrepreneurs in the fields of industry, agriculture, construction, tourism, logistics and pharmaceuticals of both countries, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

It should be noted that one of the main goals of the forum is to find business partners among entrepreneurs and expand trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.

In her welcoming speech, Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dinara Shcheglova noted that for decades our countries have been building friendly relations based on the principles of partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation.

"The past years of bilateral cooperation have shown the stability of Kazakh-Tajik relations. One of the main areas of cooperation between our countries is the transport industry and industry," said D. Shcheglova.

So, over the past year, the volume of cargo transportation in transit by rail between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Tajikistan increased by 3.4%. As for the volume of export-import transportation of goods by rail, it increased by 19%. In general, there is a positive potential for bilateral development in the field of transport.

As for air traffic between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan, flights between the two countries are operated 4 times a week on the route "Almaty - Dushanbe". In turn, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dinara Shcheglova noted that today the possibility of resuming regular direct flights between Astana and Dushanbe is being considered.

Speaking about cooperation in the field of industry, it should be noted that today it is carried out within the framework of the supply of engineering products, chemistry and metallurgy. In particular, the supply of sodium cyanide, alumina, coal tar pitch and others.

Summing up, the Vice Minister expressed interest in further deepening and expanding the bilateral strategic partnership.
