EAEU simplified procedure for moving goods for international sports events
On July 25, 2024, the Decision of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission came into force, which simplifies the procedure for moving goods intended for official international sports events across the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU),El.kz reports.
According to the new procedure, sports equipment and other goods for the organization of international sports events will be placed under a special customs procedure. This applies to both foreign goods and products manufactured in the EAEU countries and exported to third countries.
The main changes are aimed at simplifying administrative processes, reducing bureaucracy and clarifying the procedures for registration, control and certification of goods. For example, permits and veterinary certificates are not required for the import of goods of animal origin intended for personal consumption by team members.
In case of seizure or arrest of goods in the country of the sporting event, the special customs procedure is suspended, and further actions will be carried out in accordance with the legislation of this country.
The implementation of this Decision will significantly reduce administrative barriers and costs for organizers and participants of sports events.
