EAEU intends to develop organic production
The EAEU member states are developing a draft Agreement on the procedure for recognition of organic products within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The document should determine the procedure for recognition within the EAEU of products produced (obtained) in the member states as organic. For these purposes, it is planned to issue certificates confirming the compliance of production (processes of processing, storage and transportation associated with it) with the relevant standards. At the same time, the list will be formed on the basis of international and regional standards and approved by the Council of the Eurasian economic commission.
Mutual recognition of such certificates will ensure the free sale of organic products on the market of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The conclusion of such an Agreement will simplify the certification procedures and ensure their mutual recognition.
The implementation of the planned activities is aimed at improving the ecological environment, the production of food products that are safe for human health and increasing the world ranking of producers of organic products.
The effect that we expect from the introduction of this Agreements are the development of fair competition and cooperation, the formation of an affordable price for «organic» and the increase in the export potential of domestic products.
For the business of Kazakhstan, mutual recognition and work according to these standards makes it possible to sell industrial organic products to the population of the EAEU member states with a total population of about 185 million people.
The draft Agreement is planned to be signed before the end of this year.
