Cultural ties as source of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Hungary

Abzal Saparbekuly, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Hungary, held a meeting with Balázs Hankó, the Minister of Culture and Innovation of Hungary, El.kz cites MFA.

During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the action plan on interaction in the field of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and Hungary for 2025-2026. In particular, there was an exchange of views on the opening of a chair of “Kypchak Studies” in Hungary, where the Kazakh language would be taught, and the Hungarian language in Kazakhstan. In the same context, mechanisms for deepening relations between universities and scientific institutions, as well as for carrying out research work were discussed.

The Kazakh Ambassador pointed out that the brotherly relations between Kazakhstan and Hungary are based on the common Kipchak history, and in the current realities of bilateral cooperation, the cultural and scientific orientation occupies a special place.

For his part, Hungarian Minister assured that Hungary intends to create a solid basis for teaching the Kazakh language and conducting joint scientific and innovative research.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to organize cultural events in Hungary this year, in particular concerts of Kazakh national melodies and weeks of Kazakh cinema.

It is important to note that on January 7, Abzal Saparbekuly and Csaba Káel, the Head of the National Film Institute of Hungary and Government Commissioner for the Development of the Hungarian Film Industry, met and agreed to cooperate in the field of film production and implement joint projects.
