Chinese company to supply 90 new locomotives for Kazakhstan in 2025

The Chinese company CRRC will supply 90 90 mainline and shunting locomotives to Kazakhstan, including the first hybrid locomotives with a track gauge of 1520 mm, which will reduce fuel consumption and increase the efficiency of railway transport, El.kz reports to the press service of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ).

The management of KTZ and representatives of the Chinese corporation CRRC discussed the supply of 200 locomotives, the first batch of which will arrive this year

In addition, CRRC intends to create service centers in Kazakhstan and train local specialists.

The parties also discussed the projects in the field of digitalization of railways, track inspection technologies, the introduction of high-speed trains and innovative solutions for changing the gauge.
