Astana and Almaty airports recognized as best in CIS and Central Asia

The prestigious Skytrax World Airport Awards have once again awarded Kazakhstan's air harbors, El.kz reports citing  the Civil Aviation Commitee.

Almaty International Airport was recognized as the best regional airport in Central Asia and the CIS, and its new Terminal 2 was recognized as the best new terminal in the world. Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport in Astana was awarded for the best staff among the airports in the region.

Both awards are part of the annual Skytrax World Airport Awards 2025, one of the most prestigious awards in the field of civil aviation. It is formed on the basis of feedback from millions of passengers around the world, who evaluate airports by the level of comfort, quality of service, infrastructure and innovation.

Almaty International Airport has strengthened its position as a key hub in the region thanks to the development of the route network and large-scale modernization. The new Terminal 2 was opened in 2024 and was an important part of the project to increase the airport's capacity.
