Almaty to host largest exhibition in field of artificial intelligence

From March 28 to March 30, Almaty will host AlmatyFair.ai, the largest exhibition in Kazakhstan dedicated to artificial intelligence, where leading IT companies, startups and experts will present advanced AI solutions, El.kz reports.
According to the Kazakh Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, the event will cover key areas of artificial intelligence application - industry, finance, public administration, medicine and education. The exhibition will feature thematic zones dedicated to GovTech, BigTech, Smart City, IT business and startup ecosystem.
Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan Zhaslan Madiyev noted that the President of the country emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence as a tool for improving the efficiency of public administration, reducing bureaucracy and transparency of tax administration. In this context, Kazakhstan is actively developing its own technologies and creating conditions for the introduction of AI.
One of the key events of the AlmatyFair.ai will be the presentation of alem.ai - the International Center for Artificial Intelligence, created at the initiative of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The center will increase the export of AI solutions in Kazakhstan to $5 billion by 2029, as well as provide training for thousands of specialists, support for startups and the development of scientific research in the field of artificial intelligence.
An important part of the AI development strategy in Kazakhstan is personnel training. In October 2024, the first AI Tomorrow School in the region was opened at Astana Hub, where future artificial intelligence specialists are trained. Within the framework of the exhibition, it is expected to sign a memorandum with TUMO Ventures on the creation of the 1st educational center for creative technologies in Central Asia TUMO in Kazakhstan. This center will provide schoolchildren with access to advanced digital skills.
The AlmatyFair.ai will also present the activities of the Central Asian Innovation Hubs, an alliance of the largest technoparks in Central Asia. In 2024, Astana Hub and IT Park Uzbekistan have teamed up to jointly promote startups, which has already allowed 39 projects to represent Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan at international platforms such as Web Summit 2024 and TechCrunch Disrupt 2024.
The AlmatyFair.ai will include the AI Startup Showdown, where the best AI projects will compete for the prize pool. In panel discussions, experts will discuss the impact of AI on the labor market, the challenges of the digital era, venture capital investments, and global expansion through innovation hubs.
The AlmatyFair.ai are organized by the Kazakh Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry and the Akimat of Almaty.
