Almaty sets tourist record

Almaty received a record number of tourists in 2024 including almost 700 thousand foreign guests, El.kz reports citing Almaty Mayor's Office
At the end of last year, 2.34 million tourists visited Almaty, of which 686 thousand were foreign citizens. The largest number of guests came from Russia, India, China, the United States and Turkey.
Due to the growth of the tourist flow, tax revenues from the industry almost doubled to 90.7 billion tenge. In 2024, 110.9 billion tenge of investments aimed at the development of tourism were attracted to the city's economy.
In 2025, it is planned to launch 10 more tourist routes and 3 camping zones in Almaty. It is also planned to open the Tselinny Center of Contemporary Culture and the Almaty Museum of Arts.
