Almaty hosts Eurasian forum on safety and digitalisation in transport
Today, the V Eurasian forum on safety and digitalisation in transport kicks off in Almaty. Representatives of the transport industry to discuss traffic safety issues and the introduction of digital technologies attend the event, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Mr. Ablaliyev, Vice-Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan made a welcoming speech at the opening of the forum in an online format. He spoke about a number of important projects of the Ministry aimed at digitalizing the transport industry. In particular, he reported on the ongoing work to transfer the issuance of preferential travel tickets to a proactive format, which will allow citizens to receive tickets automatically, without the need to submit applications.
Satzhan Ablaliyev also paid attention to measures to protect the road surface. The department, together with local executive bodies, has begun to install automated stations for measuring the weight of trucks to monitor the load on the roads.
"This year, seven such stations have already been installed in the capital of Kazakhstan, covering all entrances to the city. In the coming years, it is planned to increase their number to 70 on republican roads and up to 150 on regional and local highways," the vice minister emphasized.
This event is attended by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, national carriers of near and far abroad, the Union of Transport Workers of Kazakhstan “KAZLOGISTICS”, manufacturers of engineering and technical systems for transport security and information technology, design bureaus, research organizations, consulting and design organizations, educational institutions, public and non-profit organizations.
As part of this event, participants will discuss digitalization and security in the road and railway sectors, the development of air and water transport, as well as issues of training personnel for the transport and logistics industry.
The forum will last two days, providing participants with the opportunity to exchange experiences and propose solutions for the further development of transport infrastructure.
