Senior Deputy Director of the National Library of Malaysia Charles Brillet expressed the library’s readiness to further strengthen ties with Kazakhstan and highlighted the growing interest of local people towards Central Asia, particularly with the recent launch of direct flight between Kuala Lumpur and Almaty.

Since 2012, with the support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan, a dedicated “Corner of Kazakhstan” has been established at the National Library of Malaysia. To mark this occasion, the Embassy presented the library with a commemorative plate featuring the image of Kazakh poet and philosopher Abay Kunanbayev.

As part of the Abai Day celebrations, the Embassy also organized a reading by Malaysians of the poem “Gylym Tappai Maktanba” in the Kazakh language.
