In Kazakhstan, there is an increase in the number of certified state auditors. Since the beginning of this year, the Supreme Audit Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan has issued 59 certificates of state auditor and five more certificates of state auditor of the highest category, El.kz reports.

A total of 109 people took part in the competition. Nine candidates were denied the qualification of a state auditor of the highest category, and 36 candidates were denied the qualification of a state auditor.

The certification process takes place in two stages. First, candidates pass a qualification exam, which includes test questions and complex situational tasks. The exam covers a wide range of disciplines, such as accounting, financial reporting in government and quasi-public institutions, and compliance auditing and performance auditing.

In the second stage, candidates are interviewed by a national commission chaired by the head of the Supreme Audit Chamber. At this stage, their professional training, competencies, personal qualities, as well as commitment to compliance with the professional ethics of state auditors are assessed.

The qualification of a state auditor requires higher or postgraduate education in areas such as economics and business, law or information technology, as well as at least three years of experience in the system of state audit and financial control bodies.
