40 bln tenge allocated to support grain industry of Kazakhstan

As part of the implementation of the instructions from the President of Kazakhstan, the government of the country has allocated 40 billion tenge from the reserve to support agricultural producers, El.kz reports citing the press service of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The funds are planned to be used to ensure high-quality spring field work, clean of elevator tanks for receiving the 2025 harvest, increase the competitiveness of Kazakhstan's grain exports, as well as the development of new markets, the report says.
In 2024, a record harvest of grain crops in the amount of 25.2 million tons was harvested in the country. High yields were achieved as a result of the correct application of agricultural technologies and due to favorable weather conditions. At the same time, the demand of the domestic market is about 10 million tons.
As the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted at the first Forum of Agricultural Workers in 2024, Kazakhstan's export potential for grain crops is 12 million tons - this is a large volume and a huge responsibility. The priority task of the Government is to provide comprehensive support to farmers in selling their products in foreign markets.
Today, 10 million tons of this export potential are sent to traditional markets, through which routes have already been worked out. 2 million - for sales in long-distance directions and new markets. Thus, subsidizing the reduction in the cost of transportation costs will allow farmers to export grain to new markets in a timely manner and prepare elevators for a new harvest, the press service reports.
