103 athletes to represent Kazakhstan at 2025 FISU World University Games Winter
On January 13, 2025, the XXXII World Winter Universiade starts in Turin (Italy), which will last until January 23. 2000 athletes from 57 countries of the world will take part in the largest student competitions, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the National Scientific and Practical Center for Physical Culture and Sports.
Kazakhstan will be represented at the competition by 103 athletes who are members of national and youth national teams.
According to FISU, all participants must be at least 17 and not older than 25 years old as of January 1 of the year of the competition, as well as be citizens of the country for which they are competing, and be current students of a higher education institution.
It should be noted that the national team of Kazakhstan showed its best result at the home Universiade-2017 in Almaty, taking second place in the overall medal standings.
Then Kazakh athletes won 36 medals (11 gold, 8 silver and 17 bronze).
