The work of foreign mining companies was discussed during the meeting of the President of Kazakhstan with the public of the Karaganda region, El.kz reports with reference to Akorda.
"The state closely monitors the activities of all major mining companies operating in our country. We will not allow the illegal withdrawal of capital abroad. We will monitor their implementation of various social programs," Tokayev said.
He noted that special attention will be paid to the process of modernization of production, environmental protection.
"Tax payments are under special control. If large industrial enterprises do not meet these requirements, we will be forced to terminate the partnership. This is not a threat, but simple, honest and fair rules of work, generally accepted throughout the civilized world. The era of oligarchic capitalism in Kazakhstan is coming to an end, a period of social responsibility to the citizens of the country is coming. Our citizens need an effective and socially responsible business that occupies a leading position in the country's economy," the President concluded.
