VIII Congress of leaders of world and traditional religions in focus of Israel’s religious community

In preparation for the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Daulet Yemberdiyev met with prominent religious leaders in Israel, El.kz cites MFA.

Among those present were Chief Sephardic Rabbi David Yosef, Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi Kalman Ber, Patriarch Theophilus III of Jerusalem, and Baha’i General Secretary David Rutstein.

During the discussions, the participants addressed various issues related to the organization of the Congress and the enhancement of interreligious dialogue. Special emphasis was placed on the exchange of experiences and the strengthening of cultural ties among different peoples.

Ambassador Yemberdiev expressed his gratitude to the spiritual leaders for their ongoing support and active involvement in the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which has been held in Kazakhstan’s capital since 2003. During the meetings in Jerusalem, the religious leaders received official invitations on behalf of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to participate in the upcoming VIII Congress, scheduled for September 2025.

The religious leaders expressed their appreciation to the President of Kazakhstan for the invitation and underscored that the event would further promote the idea of interreligious and intercivilizational dialogue, which is a crucial element in building a peaceful future for all humanity.
