Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan appointed

By the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ahmed-Zaki Darkhan  is appointed as Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of  Republic of Kazakhstan,  El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Darkhan Ahmed-Zaki was born in 1981 in the East Kazakhstan region. He graduated from Al-Farabi Kazakh State University, Kazakh State Technical University named after K. Satpayev.
He began his career in 2002 as a teacher of physics and mathematics at the Republican Medical College in Almaty.

He worked as a software engineer at the Center for Technological Research of KazakhOil CJSC in Zhanaozen in 2003.

From 2004 to 2012, he held various positions at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, including assistant, teacher, senior lecturer, associate professor and deputy dean for educational work, as well as head of the Department of Informatics at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics.

In 2012-2013 he was the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of KazNU.


From 2013 to 2016, he held the position of Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at KazNU.

In 2016-2017, he headed the Department of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From 2017 to 2020, he served as President of the University of International Business.

From 2020 to 2022, he served as rector at Astana IT University.

Last position: Chairman of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
