Top 5 tourist locations named in Kazakhstan

766,588 guests visited the resort areas of Kazakhstan from January to March this year. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan named  the TOP-5 popular vacation spots, El.kz reports.

Altai

The Altai resort area, located in a picturesque region in eastern Kazakhstan, attracted 20,696 tourists in the first three months of 2024. This place is known for its beautiful landscapes, mountain peaks, and clear lakes. Here tourists can enjoy the natural beauty, hiking and mountaineering. Altai nature offers unique opportunities for ecotourism and adventure trips.

Turkestan

The Turkestan zone with its rich history and cultural heritage attracted 26,069 guests. Turkestan is one of the oldest cities in Kazakhstan, known for its historical monuments and shrines, such as the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi.
