Tokayev proposes to limit president's term to 7 years

Kazakh President said this while delivering his annual State-of-the-Nation Address at the joint sitting of the Parliament chambers today.

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has proposed to set a 7-year term for the country's president with no right for reelection, El.kz reports.

« The number and duration of the president's terms need to be reviewed. I propose limiting the president's term to seven years. But re-election is prohibited," the Head of State said in his Address to the people of Kazakhstan today.
