President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin  Muhriddin, who arrived in Astana on an official visit, El.kz reports citing Akorda.

During the meeting, the Head of State noted the steady positive dynamics of the development of relations between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan in a wide range of areas, stressing the importance of further deepening the strategic partnership.

Tthe President of Kazakhstan highlighted the Treaty on Allied Relations signed last year, which marked a new milestone in the multifaceted and fruitful cooperation between Astana and Dushanbe.

"We highly appreciate the friendly relations with Tajikistan. Our countries have always supported each other, and today this is reflected in our desire to actively develop bilateral ties," the President said.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the invaluable contribution of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to strengthening Kazakh-Tajik relations.

On his turn, Sirojiddin Muhriddin stressed that over the years of sovereign development, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan have built mutually beneficial relations, which are steadily developing in the spirit of friendship and alliance in the interests of the nations of the two countries

Tajikistan values close fraternal ties with Kazakhstan. Your country is the most important partner for us, there is full mutual understanding in all areas of bilateral cooperation. The past year has been significant for our relations, which have moved to the level of alliance," the minister said.

The Tajik diplomat conveyed warm greetings from President Emomali Rahmon to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and reaffirmed the commitment of the Tajik side to further deepen comprehensive cooperation with Kazakhstan.

The sides also reviewed the implementation of the agreements previously reached at the highest level, paying special attention to the prospects for deepening cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, transit, digitalization, education and culture.

In addition, the meeting discussed issues of regional security, water and energy cooperation, as well as joint measures to ensure the sustainable development of Central Asia.
