The Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the first-ever Agriculture Workers’ Forum, El.kz reports citing Akorda.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated everyone on the upcoming professional holiday - Agricultural Worker, Food and Processing Industry’s Workers Day.
- It is symbolic that this forum coincided with another significant event - the 70th anniversary of the beginning of the development of virgin lands in Kazakhstan. Of course, the results of this large-scale campaign have received mixed reviews. However, the domestic agricultural sector has undergone significant positive changes thanks to virgin lands and our country has become one of the main grain-growing countries in the world in a short time, " the President said.
The Head of State noted the achievements of domestic producers.
We have just visited a specialized exhibition. Our great achievement is the high quality of domestic products, a significant part of which is exported. Kazakhstan ranks sixth in the world in terms of arable land and pastures. We are one of the ten largest wheat exporting countries, and also among the leaders in flour exports. Despite the fact that this year turned out to be difficult, we were able toto collect a record of 26.7 million tons of grain for the last 10 years, the Head of State said.
