Chairman of the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan Aslambek Mergaliyev and President of European Court of Human Rights Marko Bosniak, signed a memorandum of cooperation, El.kz reports.
The agreement is aimed at developing partnerships between the judiciary, introducing international standards of justice, as well as improving the professional level of Kazakhstani judges.
One of the key aspects of the Memorandum was to provide the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan with privileged access to case law materials that are not currently publicly available. This creates conditions for a more in-depth study of European judicial practice and its application in decision-making.
In addition, the parties agreed to conduct educational events aimed at improving the professional skills of Kazakhstani judges. It is expected that such initiatives will contribute to the development of law enforcement practice in the country and strengthen the protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens.
The signing of the document was another confirmation of Kazakhstan's desire to integrate into the world legal space, introduce advanced judicial practices and ensure the rule of law.
The heads of the judiciary expressed confidence that cooperation between Kazakhstan and the ECHR will have a positive impact on the country's judicial system, contributing to its further improvement.
