Strengthening bilateral cooperation with Kazakhstan discussed at Romanian FM

Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Romania Yerlik Ali met with Secretary of State for Global Affairs and Diplomatic Strategy of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Traian Hristea, El.kz cites MFA

The parties exchanged views on topical issues of the international and regional agenda, discussed prospects for cooperation in the formats “European Union – Kazakhstan” and “European Union – Central Asia” in trade, transit, transport, energy and IT spheres.

Ambassador Ali shared information about recent developments in Kazakhstan's foreign policy: the visit to China by the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a visit to Belgium by the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu, the Economic Forum “European Union – Central Asia” held in Almaty. Interlocutors stressed the timeliness of the Romanian delegation's participation at this economic forum, where bilateral meetings between Kazakhstan and Romania took place.

The Romanian diplomat stated that Kazakhstan has always been and will always be an important partner of Bucharest in Central Asia. Secretary of State Hristea gave assurances of support to Kazakhstan's initiatives at both bilateral and multilateral levels.

Expressing his gratitude for his willingness to cooperate, Ambassador Ali pointed out the relevance and importance of the visits of Kazakhstan's leadership to Romania in the near future.
