Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurzhan Nurzhigitov met with representatives of the Spanish company Xcalibur Smart Mapping which specializes in the exploration of groundwater and mineral deposits using advanced cartographic technologies, El.kz reports citing the press service of the ministry.
The meeting discussed the plans for 2025, including conducting an airborne electromagnetic survey to map and identify groundwater reserves in western Kazakhstan as well as the possibility of attracting a grant from the Spanish government for the implementation of the project.
The use of modern technologies will make it possible not only to determine the exact volume of water resources, but also to optimize their use in the context of water scarcity in the region.
