This visit demonstrated the mutual desire of both countries to deepen cooperation not only in trade and diplomacy but also in education and technology. The Ambassador also noted the recent visit of Kazakhstan’s Minister of Science and Higher Education, Sayasat Nurbek, to Korea, which underscored the growing educational ties between the two countries.

In his speech, the Ambassador highlighted successful examples of cooperation between universities from both countries, including the partnership between Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University and SeoulTech, which led to the establishment of an artificial intelligence school, as well as the joint training of specialists for the KIA automobile plant in Kazakhstan between Kostanay Regional University named after Akhmet Baitursynuly and Dong-Eui University.

During his visit, Ambassador Arystanov also met with Choi Byung Kwan, Deputy Governor of North Jeolla Province. The parties discussed the current state and prospects for developing bilateral cooperation in political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. The Ambassador informed his counterpart about the recent State of the Nation Address by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, highlighting key areas of development, such as infrastructure, industry, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence, which open up new opportunities for cooperation with Korea.

Kwan expressed his intention to visit Kazakhstan in the near future and recalled the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Almaty Region Administration last year. Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached to continue efforts to strengthen interregional cooperation.

Additionally, during the visit, a meeting was held with Kim Dae Sik, President of the Jeonbuk International Cooperation Agency (former Ambassador of South Korea to Kazakhstan). The parties discussed the prospects for expanding joint educational and cultural programs, which will form the foundation for further strengthening ties between Kazakhstan and South Korea.
