As part of the execution of the instructions of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan continues to work to strengthen the system of combating wildfires. Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov signed a decree on the creation of the Service for the Protection of the Forest Fund, El.kz reports citing the press service of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The new republican civil protection service under the Ministry of Ecology will increase the efficiency of forestry institutions in emergency situations, including when extinguishing forest fires. The need for a separate service is dictated by the fact that combating forest fires requires a scientific approach to reforestation and tree felling, the adoption of a set of preventive measures and the development of relevant competencies.

It is expected that the emergence of the Service for the Protection of the Forest Fund will improve the coordination of government agencies in the elimination of large-scale forest fires, increase the equipment of relevant institutions with machinery and equipment, as well as form high-quality personnel in the field of prevention and extinguishing of natural fires.

- It is worth noting that today there are 15 republican civil protection services in Kazakhstan, which are designed to ensure the sustainable functioning of certain life support institutions of the country. Among them: the Fire Service, the Medical Service, the Chemical Protection Service, the Engineering Service, the Radiation Protection Service, the National Hydrometeorological Service, etc., the report says.
